Siwon: The new era has come! I believe that the language that we share ‘music’ will let our friendship and love be closer and be more honest(?), one and a half years has passed, Super Junior-M has a new beginning, hope that time time will be a time that you all treasure very much! You inclined your head awkwardly at the incredulous salesgirls as they whispered about you sitting tiredly waiting for your boyfriend in the changing room. You winced as you realised how that sounded, even in your head.
Drumming your fingers on your thigh, you sighed. ‘Mi, are you done yet? We’ve been here for two hours and through ten different outfits.’
‘Almost!’ You heard a little squeal as you realised that he had finally found an outfit he loved. Finally, you breathed to yourself before smiling awkwardly at the giggling salesgirls again.
Your boyfriend came out in his new outfit, his face half wrapped up in the scarf that he had to have on to protect his identity, and paid for his spoils, dumping his old clothes in a paper bag. You laughed as you watched his feet bounce excitedly and compulsively on the floor as he waited for his credit card to be returned.
Taking your hand gently, he pulled you out of the shop and into the frigid cold. You shivered and stepped closer to him. Zhou Mi laughed and put an arm around your shoulders, stroking your cold cheeks with the the bare tips of his fingers.
‘Cold?’
‘You think?’ You snorted. Stretching out your arms in front of you, you groaned as he kneaded your sore muscles apologetically.
‘Did I really take that long?’
‘I could have released two albums in the time you took,’ you wrinkled your nose at his crestfallen face and you tip toed to press a chaste kiss to his cheek, just above his fluffy red scarf, before burying your face in his coat to warm it up.
‘Merry Christmas.’
You peeked up at him, and stopped at the intense look in his eyes. Zhou Mi continued to stroke at your cheeks as he hummed under his breath. You smiled.
‘I wish that your vocal cords would heal,’ you whispered.
His fingers froze and shook just a little, before Zhou Mi stopped walking and pulled you to him, wrapping his arms tightly around you. Dropping his head to your shoulder, he mumbled, ‘I wish for that too.’
And the both of you just stood there, with the cold wind swirling around you, as you held each other, hoping for the promise of a new year.
